Roccat Kone AIMO Gaming Mouse Review
The Roccat Kone AIMO Gaming Mouse Review is possible due to affiliates and readers, thank you.
You don’t typically hear a lot about Roccat as a brand. They aren’t one of the predominant advertisers when it comes to gaming peripherals. However, they are easily one of the most unique and first brands on the market. In addition, they are one of the first brands to bring RGB lighting to life!
Roccat was also one of our first gaming peripherals (keyboard and mouse). They have been a staple in the gaming community since the early days and have revived one of their most infamous brands Kone.
In the Roccat Kone AIMO Review we’ll be taking a look at the build quality, features, and performance. As well as letting you know if this is a good option for your gaming setup!
Starting off with the features of the Roccat Kone AIMO Gaming Mouse.
Firstly, Roccat uses their Optical Owl-Eye Sensor. This sensor allows you to choose anywhere from 100-16,000 DPI in sensitivity. So, for gamers who prefer super-high sensitivity gaming can get it easily with this mouse.
Additionally, they include 5 fully customizable RGB lighting zones. They are all independent of each other so you can mix and match to whatever your specifications are. And, you can use them all to sync together for different lighting transitions.
If you have ever used a Kone mouse before, then you’ll know that it extremely ergonomic and comfortable to use. It is very unique, but still provides a good amount of ergonomic shape. After using a Kone mouse you probably won’t forget the shape and feel of the side extensions.
In accordance with the shape, Roccat also uses a special material coating that is unmistakable. It is a very durable, soft, grippy and premium feeling texture that is a signature of the Kone AIMO mouse. The coating is designed to be durable and dirt-resistant with a built-in hybrid anti-wear coating. You should be able to hold onto the mouse even through the most intense gaming sessions.
Additionally, there is over 24 button function combinations that you can independently program. There are several buttons on the Kone AIMO, however you can combine them to create different uses depending on what you’re using. For example, just like you’d hold “Shift + C” on your keyboard to copy something, you can hold “Shift + another button on the mouse” to make something happen. Roccat calls it the Easy-Shift feature.
As far as build quality is concerned, Roccat has a standard of “German Engineering” to uphold. The mouse feels incredibly sturdy and comfortable in your hand. In addition, the special hybrid-coating feel very premium. It has a soft-touch quality while still maintaining a durable feel.
Additionally, Roccat’s Swam software is a good addition to be able to control and customize your mouse. The RGB LED’s are very bright and seem to provide a high-quality of light. They look pretty good considering RGB can be done very wrong. But, in this scenario Roccat does the Kone AIMO’s lighting right.
Finally, as far as the Owl-Eye sensor is concerned, it provides plenty of DPI for 99% of gamers. I personally never tuned it past 1500-1800 DPI and had absolutely no issues with tracking, but we’ll talk about that more in the performance.
Finally, to sum up the Roccat Kone AIMO Review we’ll be talking about this mouse’s performance in gaming (which is what it was made to do).
As I mentioned before, the Optical Owl-Eye sensor works very well. It has accurate tracking, a good responsive character and no issues with running out of DPI sensitivity. The Kone AIMO connects via USB, so there is no obvious issues with latency or delayed response. And, all of the buttons on the mouse seem to have good tactical feedback.
While the scroll wheel and side buttons feel high-quality, we did find that the two top buttons felt a little mushy. However, we had those set to our DPI settings, so we didn’t use them very often.
The lighting on the Kone AIMO looks fantastic. It added the perfect amount of RGB customizability while still maintaining a mature look. And, if you wanted, you can just turn the RGB lighting off all together.
Finally, the biggest pro to the Roccat gaming mouse is the build quality and feel. It is a very premium feeling mice at a decent price point that isn’t too outrageous. There is a lot of cheaper budget gaming mice that don’t feel nearly has high quality as this mouse.

When it comes to gaming mice, the Roccat Kone AIMO is one of our top choices for gaming mice. During the review, we re-found a love for Roccat and their gaming products. The Kone AIMO has awesome-looking RGB lighting, a modern design and high-quality build.
If you’re looking at other competitors such as the Razer DeathAdder or Logitech G502, then this is definitely a solid competitor. While it can be a bit on the pricey side, there is definitely a strong argument to be made.
There isn’t a lot that can compete with this specific German design and engineering. In conclusion, we highly recommend the Kone AIMO as a high-performance gaming mouse. You can’t really go wrong with it!
